The Ministry of Education and Training and Viet Nam Labour Union are working to set up an education and vocational training programmes from 2014 to 2020. Working skills and the knowledge on laws will be highlighted. Labourers, particularly young workers, will be encouraged to join the programmes.
Association trains young labourers
Under a long-term programme supporting young people, the Viet Nam Young People‘s Association has helped more than 5,000 young labourers in the remote province of Yen Bai receive free vocational training and jobs over the last five years.
The programme, which aims to benefit young women and youth from ethnic minority groups in the province, has also provided loans to 600 young people to set up or expand their businesses.

Quang Ngai supports poor students
More than 2,400 poor secondary students living in four remote districts in the central province of Quang Ngai have received financial support from an education project launched by the province’s People’s Committee this year. Under the project, students of Son Ha, Tay Tra, Tra Bong and Ba To will receive scholarships and food.
October CPI down slightly in HCM City
HCM City‘s Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell by 0.3 per cent this month against the last month, as five out of 11 commodity groups used to calculate the index dropped in price, according to the city’s Statistics Office.
The biggest price fall of more than 1.1 per cent was reported for the traffic group, as fuel prices dropped. Catering services and housing and building materials declined by 0.08 and 0.09 per cent, respectively. Prices of foods and foodstuffs dropped by 0.01 and 0.15 per cent, respectively.
