Naval unit awarded noble order

PANO – Rear Admiral Nguyen Ngoc Tuong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy on November 10th handed over a third-class Fatherland Protection Order by the State President to the Navy’s Labour Union at a ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the union’s traditional day in Hai Phong City.

Over the past 35 years, the labour union have seen many positive changes and innovations; it has mobilised and encouraged defence labours and troops of the service, helping them work more effectively, and successfully fulfil their core missions of national defence and economic development, combat readiness and protection of national seas and islands.



Notably, the organisation’s members have applied many initiatives in production, training and force building. Moreover, the trade union has helped improve its members’ incomes. So far, as many as 36 houses named “Labour Union” and “Comradeship” have been built for needy labourers.


On the occasion, certificates of merit by the Navy were conferred on outstanding groups and insignias “For the cause of building the Labour Union” were on excellent individuals.
