In the fiscal year 2015, World Vision Vietnam (WVV) implements 46 area development programs (ADP) in 15 provinces and cities across the country, including 3 ADPs in three districts of Tra Bong, Son Tay and Minh Long in Quang Ngai province.
The ADP framework, through sponsorship and other funding sources, provides local people and communities with chances to improve their such limiting factors and weak points as lack of knowledge, funds and management skills, etc.
ADP is paid attention to develop human resources, especially women, children, those with disabilities and people from ethnic minorities.
In Quang Ngai province, the ADPs aim at improvingthe livingstandards for the poor in the mountainous districts by implementing a holistic approach, consisting of five project goals to improvefood productionunder the Agriculture/Food Security Project.
It is to improve quality of kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Educationprojected by the Education, for health especially for childrenand women by the Health Project, for high quality of Customer Relation Service by the Sponsorship Project, and capacity building by the Leadership Development/Capacity Building Project.
In the financial year 2015, WVV has implemented activities in three aforesaid mountainous districts with funding budget of nearly USD 1,200 thousand (Tra Bong: USD 490,245; Son Tay: USD 406,000 and Minh Long: USD 223,300). It has given noticeable contributionto hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving life for the poor in the mountainous areas.
In addition, WVV has also paid particular attention to reducingnatural disaster impacts on vulnerable communities in the province through subprojects integrated into the ADPs.
As scheduled, the programs have been implemented from October 2014 to September 2015.
Yearly, leaders of WVV and Quang Ngai Provincial authorities have meeting to review the achieved results as well as share difficulties and set out the proposals for the better cooperation in the next period.
