According to Decree 84 on petrol trading, it was time yesterday to lower the petrol prices because businesses are profiting VND1,000 a liter.
However Decree 83 has taken effect since November 1 to replace the above, making petrol price changes possible only after 15 days.
Mr. Hai said that they would lower the prices earlier instead of waiting until November 16 as per regulations to share difficulties with businesses and consumers.
Therefore, domestic petrol price is going to reduce the ninth consecutive time.
