VMMU holds scientific workshop on hospital infection control

PANO – Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) on November 18th held a workshop to exchange experiences on infection control and recognize the contributions of German experts from B.Braun Melsungen AG Company in the university’s training and researching cause during their 5 years of cooperation.

Addressing the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr., Major General Do Quyet, the university’s Director held that many of the university’s goals for training programs and scientific researches have been completed under the cooperation between the two sides over the past time.



The Vietnamese military university has also expanded its relationship with many German hospitals such as UKB, Vivantes, Klinikum, and DRK-Kliniken Berlen Hospital to enhance mutual understanding and training programs, contributing to making a motivation for the scientists’ improvements.


At the workshop, experts exchanged and shared information on protection measures for patients, their relatives and medical staff to avoid infection in hospitals as well as health facilities. Accordingly, infection in hospitals is one of the biggest challenges and concerns in Vietnam and around the world.


The issue, which necessitates that infection need to be controlled within hospitals, is an important requirement to improve hospitals’ health service. According to experts, cleaning hands after contacting with patients or infected equipments has been recommended as the simplest and cheapest way for doctors and medics to prevent infection.
