Part of the tunnel of Da Dang-Da Chomo hydropower power project fell on the morning of December 16 after heavy rain, trapping 12 workers, including one woman, inside the tunnel.
The rescue team was represented by Brigade 293 under the Sappers Arm, Brigade 25 of Military Zone 7 and the Mine Rescue Centre under the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin).
The rescue team involving more than 500 people took all the 12 workers out of the tunnel safely at around 4:30 p.m. on December 19. They are in stable condition.
