Army units commended for mission fulfillment

PANO – Senior Lieutenant Geneneral Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, on December 19th praised the Party committees of the General Staff and Military Zone 1 for their good achievements in implementing assigned missions over the past year.

At the conference reviewing the leadership in deploying the assigned missions in 2014 and working on a leadership resolution for 2015 by the Party Committee of the General Staff-the Ministry of National Defence Organ, General Ty highlighted their outcomes and analysed impacts of situations at home, in the region and the rest of the world on the unit’s mission implementation next year.


The general asked the unit to continue grasping strictly the Party’s, the State’s and the Central Military Commission’s instructions and resolutions with a focus on the Resolution of the 8th session of the11th Party Central Committee on national protection strategy in the new context; to improve actively the quality of the strategic staff work on military and defence; to direct units in the whole army to maintain strictly duties, combat readiness and timely deal with any unexpected situations.


Meanwhile, addressing the conference held by Military Zone 1’s Party Committee, General Ty highly appreciated the zone’s accomplishments in 2014 and the boosted coordination with the party committees of provinces where the zone is stationed.


In 2014, the zone timely dealt with emerging situations, contributing to upholding firmly national sovereignty over the borders, political security, social safety and to the local socio-economic development.


He also requested the zone to heighten revolutionary vigilance, combat readiness, effectively promote natural disaster prevention, enhance training for both regular troops and militiamen, combine closely economy with defence, be active in poverty reduction and hunger elimination, build the zone’s armed forces stronger and fulfill all assigned missions.
