Border Guard Command reviews its task implementation

PANO – Border Guard Command has reviewed the five-year implementation of its Party Committee’s resolution on raising capabilities of managing and protecting national sovereignty over the sea in the new context.

In the past, the Border Guard Party Committee and Command have instructed border guards of provinces and cities and its constituent units to work with Central and local organs and media to disseminate the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on border work with the focus on the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Law of the Sea of Vietnam, the Agreement on Delimitation of the Tonkin Gulf, China-Vietnam Fishery Agreement. Units, delivered 346,000 leaflets, built 1,700 boat groups of unity, and set up more than 3,600 self-management groups to mobilize local party committees, authorities and people to work with border guards to ensure public order and protect national sovereignty over sea.


Besides, the force well conducted search and rescue missions, mobilizing 37,000 troops with 2,200 vehicles to save 6,600 people, and calling 2.1 million of vehicles to take shelter.
