PANO – The Vietnam Red Cross Society on December 15th in Hanoi hosted a press briefing on the 2015 program on Tet holidays for the poor and victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin, and launched a writing and photo contest themed “Spring of Compassion 2015″.
Such a program was firstly launched in 1999. Since then, more than VND 3 trillion has been raised to support nearly 14 milllion poor people and AO victims. In 2014 alone, the program raised VND 635 million from ten thousands of benefactors.
Under this newly-launched program, kind-hearted people are encouraged to text TET to 1405 from December 22nd 2014 to February 21st 2015. Each message contributes VND 10,000.
Entries for the writing and photo contest are to sent to the Public Relations and Resource Development Board of the Vietnam Red Cross Society at 82 Nguyen Du, Hanoi, between December 15th 2014 and May 1st 2015.
Entries should be about good examples, good deeds, nice moments on humanarian efforts to help ill-fated people strive for better lives.
