Cyclist Do Tuan Anh wins yellow and blue jerseys

PANO – The Across-Vietnam Cycling Tournament-The Vietnam Defence Cup on December 16th concluded with a victory for cyclist Do Tuan Anh from DOMESCO Pharmacy Dong Thap 1.


The cyclist won yellow and blue jerseys with 31 hours 29 minutes and 46 seconds and 193 points, respectively, followed by Nguyen Thanh Tam from An Giang-Hat Ngoc Troi (Heavenly Gem) (18 seconds slower) and Le Ngoc Son (47 seconds slower) from DOMESCO Pharmacy Dong Thap 1.

The winner of the white jersey with red dots was rider Hari Fitrianto from Lao CCN, and the best young rider of the tourney with the white jersey was cyclist Huynh Thanh Tung from the Army 1.


Notably, DOMESCO Pharmacy Dong Thap 1 won the first prize in the team category, followed by ADC-Vinh Long Television and Ho Chi Minh City.


Addressing the closing ceremony, Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper and head of the organizing panel, laid stress on the tourney significance which highlights the solidarity among Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia, the gratitude to national contributors, the military-civilian solidarity and the power of the Vietnam People’s Army and the whole nation defence.

Before the closing ceremony was the 12th stage of the tournament, in which cyclists raced 37.8km around Cao Bang city to get points. Cyclist Trinh Duc Tam from ADC-Vinh Long Television got the highest point, followed by Ariya Phounsavath and Loic Desriac.


Earlier, on December 15th, cyclists competed with one another in a 116km race from Bac Kan town to Cao Bang city, overcoming the five mountain passes of Giang, Gio, Khau Khang, Cao Bac and Tai Ho Sin, and many quick turns. Cyclist Do Tuan Anh excellently fought off stiff competition from other competitors to finish first with 3 minutes ahead of the second cyclist, Hari Fitrianto.
