Almost all of EU members pour investment into Vietnam

Twenty-three out of 28 EU members invested in Vietnam with some 1,566 effective projects worth more than USD19.1 billion as of December 15th, 2014, reported the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency (FIA).


According to FIA, among the EU investors in Vietnam, the Netherlands topped in investment capital, followed by France, the UK and Germany.


Specifically, processing and manufacturing sector attracted the most capital from the EU members with 55 projects. Following it were electricity, gas and water distribution (19 projects), information and communications, real estate business and mining.


Additionally, the EU investors saw their projects operating in 52 provinces and cities. Hanoi took the lead in luring FDI capital from the union. It was followed by Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Quang Ninh and Dong Nai./.
