Last year, all army unitswith thorough understanding of the guidelines and policies of the Party, State and Army successfully carried out the public relations work, while actively submitting recommendations to higher levels to better fulfill their tasks.

Accordingly, army units sent nearly 8,200 cadres and soldiers to localities to help strengthen thousands of Party organizations at grassroots level, upgrade nearly 9,000km of roads and irrigation canals, repair over 3,000 houses and bridges, and harvest more than 7,000ha of rice; and provided free health check-ups and medicines for a half a million people nationwide.

Addressing the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia asked all army units to maintain the close coordination with local authorities to well implement public relations and special dissemination work, especially in the strategic and rural areas; to actively promote people’s living standards; to be ready for search and rescue missions; and to diversify forms and contents to effectively implement the work.
