PANO – The Ministries of National Defence and Health on January 9th signed a cooperation agreement in the chair of their Ministers, General Phung Quang Thanh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, respectively.
The agreement aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of research and staff work, national defence and security, as well as health service between the two ministries, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development, carrying out social welfare, improving human resource and ensuring medical equipments.
Addressing the ceremony, General Phung Quang Thanh highly appreciated positive assistance from the Health Ministry to the Vietnam People’s Army, including health care for soldiers and civilians over the past time. Thanks to these supports, military doctors could improve their professional skills and many people, especially in mountainous and remote areas, have been provided with health services. The Defence Minister also urged the two ministries’ functional agencies to actively to effectively implement their signed regulations in the time to come.
For her part, Minister Tien thanked the Central Military Commission and the National Defence Ministry for their support and assistance and suggested the two ministries to strengthen their ties, contributing to completing cooperative regulations at all levels to ensure the quality of health services.
At the event, the two ministers and other delegates also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement, with the focus on applying and developing information technology in health sector in 2015 between the Ministry of Health and the military-run telecom group Viettel.
