PANO – The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union wrapped up and awarded prizes to winners of a writing contest “Towards the national seas and islands”.
Launched since July 2014, the organizing panel received nearly 8,000 entries from 230 individuals and groups across the country.

Accordingly, two groups from the People’s Security Academy and Saigon University won the first prizes for the group category, while reporter Nguyen Anh Chi from the Tuoitre Newspaper pocketed the first prize for the individual category for her article “Comrades on Hoang Sa (Paracel) island”.
The contest has contributed to inspiring youths’ love of the country’s seas and islands and honoring generations of troops who have been firmly protecting the national sovereignty.
