PANO – Ho Chi Minh City mobilized about VND 2 trillion to help policy beneficiaries and island soldiers welcome a warm 2015 Lunar New Year (Tet) festival. The information was released at a conference held by the city People’s Committee on February 27th.
Besides, the city maintained social order and held many cultural activities for local residents during the traditional holiday, and carried out a VND 16 trillion program in nearly 9,000 different areas to sell goods at stabilized prices.
Chairman of the Committee Le Hoang Quan applauded relevant units’ care for needy people while boosting production and fighting smuggling.
On the occasion, the HCM City People’s Committee presented its certificates of merit to 182 distinguished organizations with effective assistance to the poor during the recent Tet holiday.
