| On March 20, in Hanoi, General Political Department held a closing ceremony to award Photo Contest “Army with environment protection tasks, mitigation of climate change” in 2014. Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Vice Chairman of GPD, presided the ceremony.
The competition was held by General Political Department in 2014. There are 630 photo works from agencies, units and individuals for the competition. The contest works are close themes, contest contents, features, missions of agencies, units, reflecting the rich, lively activities of the army in protecting the environment, contributing to mitigation of climate change; many photo works take education effects, good communication within the agency, and army units. Professional Lieutenant Nguyen Van Bien (Department of Politics, 242 Brigade, Military Region 3) won the first prize for “Planting and mangrove forest protection”. In addition, Board of organization also decided to reward for 4 outstanding achievements units in the contest and 10 second prizes, 15 third prizes and 30 consolation prizes for the winners. People’s Army Newspaper had two second winners, such as Colonel Nguyen Minh Truong and Major Me Quang Thang. |
