First electronic toll to operate from April 30th

PANO – The Ministry of Transport on March 13th installed an electronic toll collection system (ETC) at Km604+700 Toll Station on the National Highway No.1 in Quang Binh province.

This is the first time Vietnam has deployed this new technology, which is scheduled to be operational from April 30th.


Accordingly, drivers will be issued free electronic tags (E-tags) and denote an account.


The tag will transmit a signal to the computer at the toll gantry as it approaches, and the toll will automatically charge the account, so that drivers will no longer have to stop their vehicles.
