VGP – The Government has asked sectors to promote their achievements, overcome difficulties and take measures to implement the Government’s directions on reaching 2015 socio-economic targets.

The statement was included in the Government’s resolution on the Cabinet’s March regular meeting.
The State Bank of Viet Nam was assigned to undertake an active and flexible monetary policy to reduce the interest rates for medium and long term loans by 1-1.5%/year through market tools.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment was required to follow up the world economic situation and promptly analyse effects on the country to have effective responses; mobilize social investment sources; speed up capital disbursement; and boost balance procedures in projects to avoid arrears in fundamental construction.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) was asked to keep a close watch on price fluctuations; organize the implementation of the State budget plan; enhance examination, detect and punish strictly tax violations; manage the State budget effectively; pay debts as planned and restructure the securities and insurance markets.
The MOF was also requested to work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to seek measures to cut import and export taxes in accordance with international agreements.
Ministries, agencies and localities were urged to implement effectively the Government’s resolution on improving the business environment and enhancing the national competitiveness while fostering IT services’ renting to improve the effectiveness of IT application in State agencies and ensuring information security and safety.
The MOIT was asked to expand export markets for farm produces and seafood products while the Ministry of Education and Training was required to organize successfully the national exam on high-school graduation.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was asked to study droughts in the central and highlands regions and report to the PM for support
to farmers; review and adjust the fisheries development plan; follow up and take effective measures to prevent natural disasters and diseases; and implement effectively the forest development plan to help improve living standards of ethnic minority people.
The Ministry of Health should focus on alleviating hospitals’ overload, enhance capacity for health care units at grassroots level and improve preventive medicine, the resolution said.
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was urged to implement effectively social welfare policies and the national target program on reducing poverty sustainably; inquire into the situation in remote and disadvantaged regions to have prompt support; and forter management over labor safety, salary and insurance policies.
The Government also asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to enhance management over cultural and arts activities while requiring the Ministry of Home Affairs to work with other ministries, agencies and localities to boost administrative reforms.
The Government Inspectorate was requested to improve the inspection quality and the heads of State agencies were required to implement effectively receptions to citizens to address complicated cases.
The Government urged the Cabinet to focus on implementing the law and ordinance making program and asked ministries, agencies and localities to ensure work flow during the upcoming national holidays.
