Vietnam, China boost border cooperation

PANO – The bilateral ties between Vietnam and China have seen big developments , and relations between the two defence and public security ministries have reaped a number of fruits, over the past time.


General Phung Quang Thanh, Vietnamese Minister of National Defence, made this statement at the talks with Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun, during his official visit to Vietnam on April 16th and 17th.

Minister Phung Quang Thanh and Minister Guo Shengkun expressed pleasure at the relations between the Vietnamese Defence Ministry and the Chinese Public Security Ministry.


Accordingly, Vietnam and China had inked the minutes on establishing border cooperation mechanisms at three levels between the two countries in January 2013; and worked together to manage border gates, monitor the entrance and exit people of each country, combat crimes and hold twinning activities, to name but a few.


Besides, the two ministers exchanged some international and regional issues of mutual concern and put forward some measures to beef up bilateral cooperation in the time to come.


At the end of the talks, Minister Phung Quang Thanh and Minister Guo Shengkun inked an agreement on establishing border cooperation mechanisms at three levels between Vietnam and China.
