Nhan Dan Online – Cyclist Ha Thanh Tam from the Vinh Binh Rice – An Giang team won the 18th ‘Return to the Countryside’ Cycling Tournament – An Giang Plant Protection Cup 2013 which wrapped up in Mekong Delta province of An Giang yesterday.
Tam also took the overall yellow and green jerseys. Huynh Thanh Tung from the Military Zone 7 team ranked second, followed by Nguyen Huu Tien of Hanoi team.
In the team event, Vinh Binh Rice – An Giang topped the ranking, followed by Vinh Long and Binh Duong.
In the amateur division, Nguyen Hoang Sang from An Giang’s Long Xuyen city ranked first, winning the overall yellow and green jerseys. His teammates Nguyen Van Huong and Truong Quoc Thang, finished second and third, respectively.
The six day event, held jointly by the Vietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation and An Giang province, attracting 90 cyclists from 18 teams across the country to take part in the eight stage race covering 685km through Mekong Delta provinces and cities including Dong Thap, Long An, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Hau Giang, and Kien Giang.
