HAI PHONG (VNS)— Police in the northern port city of Hai Phong decided to prosecute a group of four Chinese people allegedly involved in using high-tech devices to illegally appropriate billions of dong on Thursday.
The four, aged between 20 and 49, were thought to have used forged credit cards to steal over VND3.9 billion (US$185,000), and successfully complete transactions worth over VND6 billion (US$285,000) from the provincial branches of the Vietcombank and Vietinbank between March 16 to 26.
Police officers seized equipment believed to have been used in the crime, and VND996 million (US$47,000).-VNS
