The National Team Badminton Championships will begin in Thai Nguyen Province today with the participation of 13 delegations.
More then 100 players will compete in men’s and women’s team categories for a prize of VND70 million (US$3,300).
HCM City are the title candidate for the men’s cup as they are home to world No 10 Nguyen Tien Minh. Meanwhile, Bac Giang with successful athletes such as Youth Olympic bronze medallist Vu Thi Trang, and Nguyen Thi Sen, one of the top three, are expected to win the women’s crown.
The finals will be held on June 3.-VNS
