With the trend of technological innovation and rapid development, promoting technological innovation is the decisive factor to the development of the banking sector. These processes need to be computerized and automated at a high level in order to handle problems and meet requirements.

The Ministry of Information and Communications is also conducting initial research for online payments when implementing administrative procedures of organizations and citizens. The research brings enormous significance in providing online public services at the highest level in state agencies. “The Ministry of Information and Communications would like to cooperate closely with SBV in the application of IT in state agencies in the 2011-2015 period,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said.

According to SBV Governor Nguyen Van Binh, the banking sector was implementing core issues, such as restructuring the IT infrastructure, improving operational efficiency of the banking system, promoting the application of IT and non-cash payments, renovating management method and developing banking service channels on mobile phones.
