Women’s football team wins $47,600

The Viet Nam Football Federation and Eximbank have given VND1 billion (US$47,600) to the Vietnamese women’s national football team because the team has successfully got a ticket to the final round of the Asian Cup 2014.


The team topped Group C at the Asian Cup’s qualifier in Bahrain and will play in the final round in Uzbekistan in May next year.


The team returned to Viet Nam yesterday and will convene in August to prepare for the Southeast Asian Women’s Football Championships in Myanmar from September 24 to October 6. — VNS
