On June 12, all commercial banks raised buying price of US dollar to above VND21,000 per dollar.

Particularly, Vietcombank bought dollars at VND21,020 per dollar, up VND25 per dollar compared to the previous day, and still sold at maximum price regulated by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).

Other commercial banks, such as Eximbank, ACB, and VietinBank, fixed USD buying price via transfer at VND21,030-21,035 per dollar. Agribank kept buying price below VND21,000. Meanwhile, USD buying and selling price at SBV Operations Center remained at VND20,850 per dollar, and VND21,036 per dollar, respectively.

On free market, dollars were purchased at VND21,240-21,250 per dollar, and sold at VND21,270-21,280 per dollar, same as that at the beginning of this week.

Experts said that US dollar climbed in official market as demand grew while supply became scarce, with market factor also certainly affecting foreign currency market.
