(VOV) -Vietnam and Laos must work closely to promote bilateral trade and investment ties, especially in building transport routes linking the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasised the importance of cooperation during a June 21 meeting with his Lao counterpart Somsavat Lengsavad in Hanoi.
Phuc acknowledged the Lao govenrment’s effort in implementing Vietnamese-funded projects,helping boost socio-economic development in Laos.
The two countries’ Ministries of Planning and Investment, and their Sub-Committees for Cooperation have examined the progress of projects financed by the Vietnamese government and businesses.
Three of those projects have been completed since the beginning of this year, and both sides aim to complete seven more by the year’s end.
The Lao Deputy PM thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people for supporting his country’s development and agreed the two sides could improve the effectiveness of their cooperation in the future.
