The review is being chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The project has already introduced 580 high-quality people into leading positions in remote areas so that they they can lift the development of the regions.
The officials were promoted to deputy chairman/chairwoman of People’s Committees at the commune level.
The project has received much support from local authorities and local people. They say it is a sound policy that complies with the socio-economic development of the localities.
It is also viewed as a breakthrough in human-resource development for Government officials. It proves that they are also benefiting from being placed in tough situations that hone their skills.
More than 60 per cent of those posted to positions are said to accomplished their jobs well. – VNS
