(VEN) – As one of 50 enterprises receiving the Green Enterprise Award in 2012, Tan Thuan Corporation is gaining trust and credit of domestic and foreign investors. On the occasion of the International Environment Day, June 5th, Vietnam Economic News’ Kieu Suong Spoke with President of Tan Thuan Corporation Y.T.Young about how the company protects the environment.
What does your company do to protect the environment?
For the awareness of enterprise’s responsibility with the surrounding environment is aimed to avoid the impact of the environment in the year to come. Since its establishment in 1991, Tan Thuan Corporation has been paying much attention to having a fully work-out plan of infrastructure including trees, lawns and self-contained rubbish and waste water treatment systems that go through the whole Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone (EPZ). In the EPZ, there is a tree nursery area to meet the demands of planting tree in the entire EPZ and also there are workers who clean, take care and prune trees every day. In addition, the rubbish and waste water treatment systems were set up from the early date of the company establishment. This is the station for collecting and gathering rubbish and waste water from the whole campus of EPZ, then solved them to meet all the cleaning standards and safety with the environment. We are also studying on using sludge after waste water treatment as fertilizer for planting trees that is approved and highly appreciated by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, we are also using microbial substances instead of chemical for waste water treatment, and this is friendlier with surrounding environment than before. Waste water after treatment is used to water the trees in EPZ, that is proved that we can increase and enhance the value of reusing waste water resources.
At the same time, we have been focusing on investing in equipment, vehicles for dredging canals and maintain the clean and clear for drainage ditches in the area. The branches of the trees after pruning is put into the mill in order to grind into many small pieces then serve as fertilizer for the planting trees. Moreover, we change to use energy saving light bulbs reducing the harm to the environment and saving power. Especially due to recent climate change, tide and flood are highly rising in the rainy season, so we regularly maintain roads within safe range of height above sea level and have installed technical anti-flood water gates at main drainage access.
How does the Green Enterprise Award benefit Tan Thuan Corporation?
Achieving the Green Enterprise Award has demonstrated the efforts of Tan Thuan Corporation from the beginning time, and the award also proved that Vietnam State is paying much concern and focus on environmental protection. This is a big plus to make us more confident of attracting investment in our EPZ and other new projects. In parallel, we hope that many other industrial zones in the region can get the good brand together with us like this to contribute to economic development and environmental protection.
As I know E-Office Park project from your company has finished and been put into use. Could you share more information about this project? Why did you decide to spend your money on this and the advantages of E-Office Park?
Currently, in response to the policy of the Vietnamese government, the increasing quality of employees, and the demand of investors, we are developing a reserved land of about 40 hectares for the E-office Park with completed infrastructure and high percentage green space, attracting high-tech, software, value-added services, etc.
E-Office Park was designed as a high-grade architectural and superior infrastructure project. For this area, we don’t focus on the fields that need many employees as before, we draw E-Office Park for enterprises in the fields of software, high-tech products, highly efficient labor force, and high added value commercial and service enterprises. However, we don’t forget our duty to protect the environment, we treat this area same as Tan Thuan EPZ, and we strongly believe that E-Office Park will bring much benefit for investors. With many years of experience in investing in industrial infrastructure, investors who come to us can be assisted anytime when they meet any difficulties or obstacles. Furthermore, we also offer one door service from Hepza’s management, and investors come to us just focus on their business and production. They don’t have to worry about the formalities, just feel relax and enjoy the good working environment and appropriated living standards.
