TCIE Vietnam, a member of Malaysian automobiles manufacturer Tan Chong Motor, recently opened its assembly plant in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park in Lien Chieu District in Da Nang City.
The US$40-million factory covers an area of 129,500 square meters and has capacity to assemble 6,500 cars annually.
According to Tan Chong Motor, the plant will first focus on assembling Nissan’s Sunny Sedan models. Nissan Sunny has three versions in four colors, brown, white, silver and black. Its selling price will be unveiled in Hanoi on June 17.
Tan Chong Motor has been the official distributor of Nissan for more than 50 years in Malaysia and Singapore and also of Nissan products in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
More than 800,000 Nissan Sunny Sedans have been sold globally since launch in December 2010.
