PANO – The second blood donation drive, ” the grateful pink drops ” in 2013, with the message of ” each heart each heroic flame”, was kicked off at the My Dinh Stadium on July 27th.
Jointly organized by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, in combination with the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Mobilization Association and the Hanoi Steering Committee of Voluntary Blood Donation, the event is to mark the 66th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, collect more blood to patients in rural areas and on islands, and review the blood donation campaign, “Red journey”.
The organization panel on this occasion collected 3,000 blood units from young volunteers for patients, especially for sick soldiers, war invalids and policy beneficiaries.
Besides, the event also included other activities to call for more blood donation, an artistic exchange of ” each heart- eachheroic flame”, a closing ceremony for the “Trans-Vietnam Red journey” and a program “Vietnamese voices” to select good messages for new millennium development goals after 2015.
