Since the last technical maintenance in August 2012, the Dung Quat Oil Refinery has nonstop running “smoothly, effectively, and safely at full designed capacity”, a source from Binh Son refining and petrochemical Co., Ltd said (BSR).
The BSR General Director Mr Dinh Van Ngoc expressed his pride that those successes are due to the close jointed efforts of all staffs in BSR.
Effected by the up and down of the world’s crude oil price and input material, the 130,000 bpd Refinery has been still operated effectively at full designed capacity and its outcomes are reported to exceed the targeted plan.
It is reported that in the first six months of the year the refinery imported 3.6 million tons of crude oil, reaching 59 percent of the year plan and supplied markets with 3.3 million tons of various products, completing 58 percent of the plan set forth for the year. The total revenue is said to be 70 trillion dong, fulfilling 64 percent of the year plan.
Since received the Vietnam’s first 3.5 billion USD refinery from the contractor of Technip Consortium, BSR – which is said to take over three Petro Vientam’s units in Dung Quat site of the Bio-Ethanol plant, Package-Making Plant and Dung Quat Hospital – has so far bought 24.3 million tons of crude oil for the refinery; sold 21.3 million tons of its outcomes to markets; and earned a total turnover of 416.6 trillion dong, of which an amount of 61.4 trillion dong was paid in tax.
According to Mr Dinh Van Ngoc, to remain a stable operation of Dung Quat Refinery BSR has been seeking more foreign crude oil suppliers, and in the future the foreign crude oil will replace Bach Ho crude oil (Vietnam).
It is said that the crude oil from foreign countries will meet a large quantity input of Dung Quat refinery as it is upgraded and expanded from 6.5 to 10 million tons of crude oil per year in the future.
This year, BSR set a target is to achieve 5.6 million tons of refinery’s products; earn 111.2 trillion dong of turnover; and pay money to government over 13.3 trillion dong. It is to concentrate on works of security, safety, environment and burning prevention.
