The Ca Mau fertiliser plant in the southernmost province of Ca Mau on July 26 welcomed its millionth tonne of urea fertiliser – an important milestone in its 16-month commercial life.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai lauded its officials and workers for their responsible working spirit over the past time.
As the largest project inside the Ca Mau gas-power-fertiliser complex, the 900 million USD plant has a designed annual capacity of 800,000 tonnes of urea, which satisfies about 40 percent of domestic fertiliser demand.
The Deputy PM expressed his belief that with dynamism, creativity and all-out efforts, the staff of managers, engineers and workers will harvest greater successes in the time ahead.
The plant has so far earned nearly 8 trillion VND (380 million USD) in turnover. This initial success is expected to ease the shortage of fertiliser in Vietnam, ensure food security and popularise the Ca Mau fertiliser trademark.
