(VEN) – The General Department of Customs said that Vietnamese exports to the UK were estimated at US$1.76 billion in the first six months of this year, a 41.6 percent increase from the same period last year. The figure for this June exceeded US$335 million, an almost six percent increase from this May.
Telephones and telephone accessories took the lead among Vietnamese exports to this market, with revenues of more than US$611 million, a 79.6 percent increase. They were followed by footwear amounting to US$260.1 million and increasing by 4.6 percent, textiles and garments US$205.1 million and 3.5 percent, electronic ware and electronic accessories US$172.9 million and 315.5 percent.
Several items fell in revenue, including cashew nuts, vegetables and fruits, iron and steel, and electric wire and electric cable.
Many experts said that the UK was concerned about sustainable factors such as human health and environment. They also said that UK consumers had high demand for high-quality products and were willing to pay much for good products.
