(VOV) -Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will pay an official visit to India, co-chairing the 15th Vietnam-India Joint Committee Meeting on July 11-12.

His visit hopes to strengthen the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries, review cooperation since the last meeting, and discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Their strategic partnership remains solid, based on the five pillars of politics, economics, national defence and security, science and technology, and culture and education.

Two-way trade turnover surged to US$3.94 billion in 2012 and Indian investors’ Vietnam-based projects have reaped considerable success.

The two nations successfully celebrated their friendship year in 2012 and exchanged high-ranking delegation visits., and continue to support each other at regional and international forums.

Last year, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also attended the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit, marking the 20th anniversary of the relationship between India and the regional body.
