Dignitaries included Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam.
The delegation also laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to pay tribute to the country’s great figure.
The same day, delegations from a number of ministries, agencies and organizations also laid wreaths and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and war martyrs.
The above activities are part of a series of activities held nationwide to mark the 66th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.
In the latest move, the Government has decided to establish the Steering Committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, to coordinate with ministries and localities to investigate, collect information regarding martyrs and their relatives.
The Committee is also responsible for managing and exploiting information to serve the identification of the remains of martyrs.
