(VOV) – Male models will be offered the chance to compete in the reality television show Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2013.
The programme’s Director of Production Le Thi Quynh Trang explained that the domestic fashion industry is excessively focused on female models and fashions.
With the success of its first three years of broadcasting, Vietnam’s Next Top Model has decided to provide more opportunities for male models who want to become professionals, she said.
Trang hopes this year’s programme will continue to uncover new talent and encourage the growth of the male fashion market.
The Vietnamese fashion models who first made their name through the reality show’s previous three series include Hoang Thuy, Mai Giang, Tuyet Lan, Thuy Le, Thuy Trang, and Huyen Trang.
They have gone on to participate in international competitions and claim numerous awards: Huyen Trang won the World’s Best Model’s Best Asia title, Hoang Thuy earned Best Catwalk at the World’s Top Model, Tuyet Lan came first in Asian Model Search, and Tra My finished third in Top Model Worldwide.
Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2013 has begun accepting the profiles of potential contestants, and the nationwide qualifying round is scheduled for mid-July 2013.
The programme will be aired on VTV3 channel at 8pm on October 6, screening every Sunday henceforth.
