Nguyen Tien Minh crowned champion at US tournament

Vietnam ’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has been crowned champion at the Yonex OCBC US Open GPG badminton tournament 2013 following a persuasive victory over Wing Ki Wong, the world’s No.15.

In the first set, world No 9 Minh lost 18-21 to his rival, but he made a strong comeback in subsequent sets and finally won 2-1 after the dramatic 1 hour and 25 minute match.


With his victory, Minh got 9,000 USD in prize money and 7,000 more points to the Badminton World Federation’s ranking./.
