(VOV) – A Vietnam Fine Arts (VFA) delegation led by its Chairman Tran Khanh Cuong worked with its Lao counterpart in Vientiane on July 11.
Participants highlighted the results of delegation exchanges, shared exhibitions, and the two associations’ roles in celebrating the 2012 Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year, the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
Both sides discussed their efforts to encourage modern fine art imbued with national identity and capable of strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between their respective peoples.
Both fine arts associations committed to continuing delegation exchanges, hosting painters on fact-finding tours, and preparing for November’s third Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Fine Arts Conference in Hanoi.
Vietnam presented the Laos Fine Arts Association with a suite of research books and will help fund Vietnamese trips for Lao artists interested in sculpture and ceramics
Both associations coordinated on organising a painting exhibition including Vietnamese and Lao artists. Their work captures beautiful landscapes, life and culture in both nations, and the special friendship and solidarity between the peoples of Laos and Vietnam.
The VFA also used the occasion to present Bosengkham Vongdala -Lao Information, Culture, and Tourism Minister – with an insignia.
