(VOV) – A high-level Sri Lankan parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa left HCM City on July 19, concluding its six-day official visit to Vietnam.
The Sri Lanka parliamentary leader held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung, reaching agreements on strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two legislatures.
Both parties concurred on the need to ensure a legal environment facilitating business exchanges, trade, and investment.
Rajapaksa and Hung committed to expanding delegation exchanges and considering each other’s perspectives during multilateral forums.
Speaker Rajapaksa paid a courtesy visit to State President Truong Tan Sang.
Prof. Tissa Vitarana, a delegation member serving asSenior Minister for Scientific Affairs and theSama Samaja Party‘s General Secretary, met with leaders from the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The delegation paid their respects at President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Vietnam Buddhist Institute, toured places of interest in Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh.
The delegation also met with Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairwoman Tran Thi Quyet Tam and experienced the Cu Chi Tunnels before leaving for home.
