(VOV) -An award ceremony for the winners of Vietnam Tourism Magazine’s “Vietnam: Endless Beauty” photo competition, an initiative under the purview of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, took place in Hanoi on July 5.
Open to entries from January 1-May 31, 6,466 images taken by 590 photographers from 61 cities and provinces were submitted.
Hanoi photographer Vu Thanh Chung was awarded first place, the runners up were split between Thua THien-Hue’s Vo Dong Bay and Vinh Long’s Nguyen Bach Thao, and Khanh Hoa’s Vu Ngoc Hoang, Ho Chi Minh City’s Tran Vu Dung, and Yen Bai’s Tuan Nghia from Yen Bai all finished in third.
Vu Thanh Chung’s photo The competition’s organising board selected 164 works for inclusion in the 6th National Tourism Artistic Photograph Exhibition, available for viewing from July 5-9 in Hanoi.
Vietnamese Association of Photographic Artists Chairman Vu Quoc Khanh said the event helps international friends understand more about daily life in Vietnam and hopefully inspires them to seriously consider taking advantage of the country’s opportunities for tourism.
