PANO – Vietnamese and Chinese armies should continue enhancing their cooperation in various fields, considering it their responsibility in preserving and promoting the friendship nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Mao Zedong, said Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, during his visit to Guangzhou Military Zone in China on the afternoon of July 19th.
Receiving the Vietnamese general and other senior officers from the Vietnam Ministry of National Defence, Lieutenant General Wei Liang, Commander of the Guangzhou Military Zone, said that the visit would help enhance the ties between the two countries’ armies in the new period.
The Vietnamese general thanked the host for the warm reception and stressed that Vietnam and China’s comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation, including defence ties, has been developing well. He also emphasized gratitude of Vietnam to Chinese army’s support for Vietnam’s revolution cause.
Earlier, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence mission visited the relic site of the headquarters of the Vietnam Association of Young Revolutionary Comrades at 250 Wenming Street, Guangzhou city, where they were introduced about President Ho Chi Minh’s activities in Guangzhou via numerous artifacts and historical documents.
This relic site was also the birth place of the President Ho Chi Minh’s book “Duong Kach Menh” (The Revolutionary Road), a training manual combining basic principle of Marxism and Leninism with the fact of Vietnam’s revolution.
