HCM CITY (VNS)— Bitexcon Financial Tower in HCM City has been chosen by CNN website as one of the world’s 25 great skyscrapers. The building was designed to represent Viet Nam’s national flower – the lotus – and the 262-metre skyscraper is meant to characterise the beauty and growth of the city below.
It has a helipad on the 52nd floor that juts out 22m. The Bitexco Financial Tower may no longer be the tallest building in Viet Nam – that honor goes to Ha Noi’s Keangnam Landmark – but it is still a standout feature of HCM City’s skyline.
It is ambitious and in your face, much like its host city. This comes as no surprise, given it was designed by award-winning Ecuadorian architect Carlos Zapata. There’s an observation deck on the 47th floor, the Saigon Skydeck, where visitors get a 360-degree view of the metropolis.-VNS
