HA NOI (VNS)— The Committee for Drafting Amendments to the 1992 Constitution convened its 7th session in Ha Noi on Saturday, under the chair of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, to collect opinions on the alternative legal draft.
Hung said the committee needed to make every effort to submit the finalised draft to the NA for approval at its sixth session in October, as planned.
Hung revealed that the new draft had been edited and every chapter and article had been addressed. As it stands, there are now only two major issues that need to be discussed further, including the government’s operations and the Constitutional Council, according to Hung.
The NA Chairman said that it was essential to hold a series of seminars to collect more advised opinions from legal experts on the draft. — VNS
