VietNamNet Bridge – Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued an exhibition plan with the theme “Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam – The Historical Evidence.”
A special feature of the exhibition is all documents and maps on display coming from foreign countries, including China. These documents prove that Hoang Sa (Paracel Islands) and Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) belong to Vietnam’s sovereignty. These are the evidence to reject China’s claims of the two archipelagoes.
The exhibition will showcase 200 maps and documents of Vietnam, China, maps of some western countries in the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, and the parts related to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa in 102 books published in the western countries from the 18th to 19th centuries.
The exhibition will display three Atlases, including the maps published in the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, the U.S. and Hong Kong during the period 1626-1980, which showed that Hoang Sa and Truong Sa are adjacent to Vietnam’s territory.
Notably, the exhibition will also introduce the documents introducing Hoang Sa of the Republic of Vietnam government (1954-1975). These documents showed the regular presence of the army of the Republic of Vietnam in Hoang Sa and the adjacent waters, asserted its sovereignty over Hoang Sa in international relations and diplomatic activities.
In addition, visitors will see some Nom, Vietnamese and Chinese documents issued by the feudal states of Vietnam from the 17th to early 20th century, which confirmed that the states of Vietnam in history set and consecutively enforced sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.
In exhibition will also introduce pictures showing the heart of HCM City people to beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.
The exhibition will take place from 22 to 29-8-2013 at Reunification Hall.
