HA NOI (VNS)— The director of the Hoai Duc General Hospital, Nguyen Tri Liem, has been temporarily suspended pending investigation involving the duplication of 1,000 blood test results for 2,000 patients between May and July.
He will be suspended until August 22, according to the Ha Noi People’s Committee deputy chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc.
One deputy director and other five officials of the hospital have also been placed under suspension.
The city health department has requested seven health officials from Ha Dong, Dong Da, and Saint Paul hospitals to support Hoai Duc Hospital in medical examinations and treatment while the investigation continues.
The duplication of blood-tests scandal came to the light earlier this week after a senior doctor from the hospital sent a letter of denunciation to a national television station. — VNS
