(Cinet)- On August 17, Nghe An and Ha Tinh central provinces hosted a ceremony to receive the national cultural heritage certificate for Nghe Tinh vi, giam folk singing and launch the second vi, giam folk singing festival. Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien attended.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien spoke highly of values of vi giam folk singing in the cultural and spiritual life of people.
He praised local artists and people for their tireless efforts to educate younger generations on vi giam genres and preserve this heritage.
He also asked the two provinces to continue their efforts to make vi giam folk singing not only a national intangible cultural heritage but also the one of humanity.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Bien presented a certificate recognising vi giam folk singing as a national cultural heritage.
On the occasion, six outstanding artists were honoured with insignias for preservation and development of the singing.
The second vi giam folklore singing festival is an important cultural event with the aim of promoting the traditional folklore singing towards UNESCO recognition of vi, giam folk singing as world intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The event offered a good opportunity for 21 vi, giam folk singing clubs from the two provinces share experiences and promote vi, giam folk signing to a wider range of people.
