Party head praises Cuba Ambassador for co-operation
HA NOI (VNS)— Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday encouraged the outgoing Cuban Ambassador, Fredesman Turro Gonzalez, to maintain an ongoing role in the development of Viet Nam-Cuba relations.
The Party leader was hosting a farewell reception for Gonzalez.
Trong praised the accomplishments of the Cuban diplomat who has contributed significantly to fostering co-operation and friendship between the two countries.
He also highlighted the need for new and more effective co-operation mechanisms to boost trade and investment ties.
Gonzalez praised the relationship between the two parties, saying a solid political foundation had been laid during recent years, allowing for a closer relationship between the two governments and people, he added.
The ambassador affirmed he would remain committed to strengthening Cuba's relationship with Viet Nam in his future roles. — VNS
