(VEN) – According to Ca Mau Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, over the last three years, through the mobilization of the provincial sectors and organizations, the local people have contributed as much as VND2 billions to the province.
The capital resource is used to build facilities and technical infrastructure in local rural areas, focusing on four important areas: bridges, roads, schools and medical stations.
In addition, the local people voluntarily devoted over 100 ha of agricultural land for local authorities to build social welfare works in each locality. Thousands of people also voluntarily participated in these construction works.
This is considered as a necessary condition for the local authorities to step up rural modernization, especially building new rural areas in the 2010-2015 period.
Since 2008, Ca Mau Province has built 4,848 km of rural roads (including 2,000 km of concrete and asphalted roads and 2,848 km of black soil roads with total capital of over VND975 billion. By 2015, the province strives to have 22 communes meeting new rural areas criteria. Up to now, 3 communes have met 17 out of 19 criteria, 5 others have met 15 out of 19 criteria and the remainders are undergoing implementation to achieve these standards./.
