Chemical import taxes adjusted

(VEN) – The Ministry of Finance recently promulgated Circular 107/2013/TT-BTC adjusting the preferential import tax rates applied to some kinds of goods in Groups 2707, 2902 and 3902 of the Preferential Import Tariff.







These kinds of goods are listed in Appendix II of the Preferential Import Tariff promulgated via Circular 193/2012/TT-BTC dated November 15, 2012 of the Ministry of Finance.


All these kinds of goods are subject to a preferential import tax rate of zero percent. In 2013, a one percent import tax rate will be applied to benzene products (2707.10.00 and 2902.20.00), xylen (2707.30.00) and p-xylen (2902.43.00). From 2016 onwards, these kinds of products will be subject to an import tax rate of three percent.


Meanwhile, polypropylen products (3902.10.30 and 3902.10.90) will continue to be exempt from import taxes in 2013. They will be subject to an import tax rate of one percent in 2014, two percent in 2015 and three percent from 2016 onwards.


The new tax rates will take effect on September 26, 2013./.
