(VOV) – Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai proposed that Japan continue providing its ODA and preferential loans to Vietnam’s transport infrastructure.
- Japan grants US$500 million in ODA to Vietnam
- Vietnam-Japan industrial cooperation strategy
- Strengthening connectivity between Vietnam and Japan
Hai made the proposal while receiving Ohta Akihiro, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism, in Hanoi on September 13.
He noted that Japan is a leading transport infrastructure donor of Vietnam, and both countries have jointly implemented a number of infrastructure projects spanning aviation, maritime, rail and road transport.
He cited the ongoing construction of Noi Bai Air Terminal No2, Nhat Tan-Noi Bai access road, HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway, Danang-Quang Ngai expressway, Ben Luc-Long Thanh highway, Haiphong international seaport, and Hanoi metro route No1, as the typical infrastructure construction projects of both sides.
Hai spoke highly of the positive development of Vietnam-Japan relations through high-level exchanges to share experience and boost comprehensive cooperation in all areas, including transport.
For his part, Akihiro confirmed that Japan will provide Vietnam with capital and expertise to develop transport infrastructure facilities.
